General Information

Technical:
Most images are from 6x6 negatives taken on Hasselblad equipment.
Film is mostly Ilford XP2-400 with some Fuji Superia 400.
Scanning on Epson 3200 at 3200 dpi.
Printing is at 1440 dpi on Epson 2100 using Lyson Fotonic CIS inks, and Epson 1290 using Lyson Small Gamut inks.
'Giclee' is a term generally used to identify an inkjet print using 5 quality inks minimum on archival quality heavyweight paper.
I normally use Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl for A4 and A3, and Somerset Enhanced Satin for A3+.

The images in the '35' galleries are from 35mm negatives. As many of these images are 'historical' they do not benefit from printing above A4. All other info as above.

Note that most prints do not fill the whole of the available paper area. Cropping and formatting is done in Photoshop to create a print that supports the image. A small area is allowed around the print to facilitate matting and / or framing, this means that an A4 print will fit directly into an A4 frame without matting.

For those not acquainted with file types and sizes, The images you see on the website are low resolution jpeg files of about 8kb whereas the printed images are from the original tif files of between 25 and 200mb.

Printer profiles are from Lyson and A Riley at Imagetune.
CIS (Continuous Inking Systems), are from Marrutt UK.

'35' Galleries.
These galleries contain 35mm images mostly taken over the period 1959 thro 1966. These include images taken in the UK, Europe and the Middle East also Portuguese Guinea and Senegal in West Africa.
Many of these images record a bygone era.
